Welcome 2009-10 RRIMCs

RI Membership Development would like to congratulate the new 2009-10 RRIMCs on their appointment to this important role for Rotary. The RI Membership Development staff enjoyed meeting all of you at the recent RRIMC Training Seminar in Chicago, and we look forward to working with you over the next three years as you promote membership development at the district and zone levels.

This blog site was established to allow communication from RI to you and from you to us. We have added you to the blog’s email list so that you will receive notification when a new post is added. We hope all RRIMCs will come to the blog regularly to read news and post comments. The blog can be a valuable tool for RRIMCs to communicate on topical issues and share ideas.

In addition, if you have information you would like to pass on or have an idea that you feel would benefit the RRIMC program and would like to see it here, please send your post to Carrie Moore at carrie.moore@rotary.org.

One of the most enjoyable and beneficial training events I have been to in Rotary... the ideas exchanged were fantastic and the pacing of the seminar was good. This was much better than last year's seminar.

Suggestions: (1) Do Day One as a "boot camp" for the first year RRIMCs, and catch them up on the basics without rehashing the same ground for the others. (2) Vary presentation methods more, i.e., don't run case studies back-to-back. (3) Allow more unstructured (less timed and agenda-driven) discussion on topics that deserve in depth treatment. (4) Put "experts" in the room for hand-on sessions where we actually construct a "model regional seminar", put a newsletter together, build a blog; (5) Add some "role play" for RRIMC assistance in common district membership issues or concerns.

All in all- GREAT. And many thanks for the Discussion Leaders and Staff for their time and expertise!

Thank you Bevin. Excellent suggestions. We will be taking all of them into consideration for next year's meeting.

Carrie,I was there for the third year and admittedly with a feeling that there was not going to be much that was new.I was wrong. It was as much a learning experience as it was on first two occasions.Thank you committee, staff and faculty for making it an exceptionally good training event..Sam Movva
